Built from 92 Cents.
Buffalo Joe’s started in 2019 when Joey Mitnick opened a one-chair suite in Melissa with 92 cents in his bank account and an old Takara Belmont 225 barber chair his mom had given him.
Within months, COVID shut barbershops down. The business survived because the clients came back and because the relationships behind the chair were real.
From there, one chair became a team, and the little suite grew into Buffalo Joe’s Barber Lounge.
Today, Buffalo Joe’s is a seven-day-a-week barbershop built around a team of barbers, a growing community, and the same principles it started with: take care of the person in the chair, take care of the people you work beside, and take pride in the community you’re part of.
Melissa is where it started. Denison is coming next.

Uncompromising Quality in Every Cut
From custom leather chairs to hot steamed lavender towels, we have restored the golden era of barbering with a sleek modern touch.

Built in the Community.
Built for the Community.
A barbershop should be part of the community, not just a business inside it.
Buffalo Joe’s has hosted free back-to-school haircuts and supply drives, daddy-daughter hair clinics, watch parties, and other local events while supporting schools, teams, families, small businesses, and organizations throughout the communities we serve.
That same commitment extends into Community Commerce Melissa, where Joey serves as Vice President and works alongside other local business owners to help strengthen the local business community.
As Buffalo Joe’s grows into new communities, that part of who we are doesn’t change.
